In 1995 Dele Momodu was arrested by police officers for expressing his views on the need for democracy in Nigeria.
He overcame many hurdles, and today all that has disappeared, leaving Momodu a famous, wealthy, and influential figure in the Nigerian publishing industry.
In 2015, he officially launched Ovation TV and also launched The Boss – an online newspaper platform.
He has made an immense contribution to the world of music, fashion, business, politics, sports, and the arts, and has received numerous awards for his contributions.
Dele Momodu is widely known as the creator of “PENdulum” – a treatise on issues arising in Nigeria relating to politics, sports, fashion, and people.

With the instrument of the PENdulum, Dele Momodu was considered the voice of authority for the political party APC in 2015, which contributed to Muhammadu Buhari’s victory over Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 presidential elections in Nigeria.
His mother later died on May 18, 2007, and after the incident, things went in the wrong direction. She suffered from high blood pressure, arthritis, and diabetes as a result of obesity.
At the age of 45, she suffered from several diseases until she tested negative at the age of 60 for most of the diagnosed diseases for which she tested positive at 45.
In addition, he received his Master’s degree in English Literature from Ife University in 1988.
After graduating from the Yoruba Department of Ife University in 1982, he began teaching as an NYSC candidate at the Oyo State College of Arts and Science in Ile-Ife until 1983.
At the end of his teaching tenure, he served as his private secretary under the former deputy governor of Ondo State, Chief Akin Omoboriowo, from 1983 to 1985.
In 1986 he worked as manager of the Motel Royal Limited under the management of Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II.
Later he took up further studies in English literature, which he completed with a Master’s degree.
During this period of study at the University of Ife, he began writing articles for newspaper publications in Nigeria, including ThisDay, The Guardian, and The Sunday Tribune.
On July 30, 2016, Dele Momodu received his doctorate with the title “Doctor of Humane Letters” from the University of Professional Studies, Accra, Ghana.
In 2017 Dele became a pioneer of the staff and was now transferred to Weekend Concord, where he wrote the first cover story for Weekend Concord in 1989.
In addition to the aforementioned publications in which Dele Momodu has been involved, he also wrote articles for the Yoruba Newspaper, Sunday Concord, National Concord, and others.
Dele Momodu quickly rose to the literary editor and was later promoted to news editor of the Weekend Concord publication, where he was transferred to by African Concord magazine.
In May 1990, Dele Momodu rose to become one of the highest-paid editors after he achieved an appointment as editor of a celebrity magazine called May Ellen Ezekiel’s Classique.
He eventually gave up publishing and ventured into the business as a bread distributor for Wonderloaf – a bread company owned by the late Chief Moshood Abiola.
After retiring from bread distribution, he joined the Moshood Abiola Presidential Campaign Organization in 1993.
Imprisoned for broadcasting views
Fortunately, he fled Nigeria to Cotonou, disguised as a local farmer. From Cotonou, Republic of Benin, Dele Momodu moved to Togo and then to Ghana.
He finally settled in the United Kingdom, where he stayed until the charges against him were resolved.
