Recall that before the lockdown order was passed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic that plagued the nation, ASUU were already on strike.
With the ASUU strike still ongoing, the National leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has instructed their lecturers not to hold online lectures for students.
However, ASUU National President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, has asked lecturers not to be involved in online teachings, saying that the senate has to approve it before the Vice Chancellor will asked the lecturers to go ahead with it.
The ASUU National President said:
“Do not obey any vice chancellor’s call for online lecturing. It is a blatant violation of the university laws. It is in the interest of our universities, our students and our nation to resist any attempt to undermine the ongoing struggle,’’
The President also revealed that they are working to make sure that the right educational standards are maintained.
